Plowing Ender:

The Plowing ender is probably the easiest way to get vertical on flat water and it can be done in a variety of boats. To do this move you will need to have a boat that you can get to pearl in flat water.

(1) The first thing you need to do is gain a lot of speed, you will notice as you gain speed that a wave is forming just in back of your hips, now that you are up to speed wait just a second until the wave that was behind you has caught up with the boat. (2) Lean forward diving the boat into the water and continue to paddle forward as aggressively as you can. The wave that was just behind your hips will kick in and start to push the boat vertical.Try paddling upstream, against the current. Let the current grab your boat and push it down. If you are unsuccessful in your first attempts try doing this move into an eddy line, this will greatly help in your success to get the boat vertical. The stronger the eddy line the quicker and easier it will be to get vertical. If you are still having problems it is probably because you have too big of a boat and you will find that most of the paddlers out there will be more than willing to let you try out their new cool playboat. (3) Take a few more strokes to ensure your vertical then take advantage of the vertical world and remember that balance is the key to stay this way.

This move will help you a lot when you start working on advanced moves like the bow stall because once you get vertical doing a plowing ender you will find that you are much more balanced than if you were to flat water cartwheel into a bow stall. The most important part of this move is your speed, the more speed you have the easier it will be to get vertical. Another important part is when you are starting to get vertical you will need to be able to keep the bow of the boat from squirting out sideways. You can keep this from happening by just continuing to paddle forward aggressively. If you do all of this correctly you will be vertical on your bow before you know it.
