Hold the lighter by it's lid with the bottom facing up between your thumb, ring- and middle finger, with the hinge pointing at your thumb. Keep your index free from the lighter. Swing the lighter open with a movement from the wrist towards your index finger (to the side). It will open in a flash, then spin the wheel with your index finger and the lighter will light. Reverse the swing and the lighter will close. An alternative way to close will be to complete the circle by swinging the lighter through the gap between your thumb and index finger. Have fun!
