It's really more of an outro than a trick. You first open your lighter. Light it. A fancy trick may not be to good here do to the speed that is needed. Once lit, and I mean within the first second, you simply place your thumb over the top of the flame. This must be done fairly quick, otherwise the fire has too long to get going and you may get burnt. Your thumb cuts off the oxygen and the flame is extinguished. At first it sounds quite dumb and painful but when you now how to do it, you will be known as the toughest man of the evening. Remember, quickness is the key. Too slow and you'll be punished.
