Hold out your dominant hand with the palm facing inwards and the fingers loosely separated. Push the lighter body (hinge down) between the index and ring finger with the middle finger against the base. Place the little finger on the hinge. Use your thumb to push the cap down and flick the wheel to light the wick, when lit the fumes in the cap should ignite (like in your brandy). To finish place the thumb on the exposed part of the body, between the wheel and the index finger. Pinch the index and ring finger tightly and slide the little finger against the cap to close it. See? easy!
