Hold the lighter in the fist, with the knuckle facing the arm, the lid-body separation parallel to the thumb, the mouth of the lighter facing away from the body and the lid up. Gripping the lighter tightly, strike the top of the wrist with the fist of the free hand. The lid should pop open. Turn the lighter around in the fist so that the wheel now faces the body, and light with a snap/flip/pinch. Close the lid with another strike to the wrist.
