Some lighter tricks have always been around – and that is surely the case with ”Squeeze & Flip”. It is a true classic that oozes style and grace. It’s also a very important trick to master, since lots of other tricks use the very same squeeze technique.
In your dominant hand position the lighter as shown in the picture – thumb on the bottom and the tip of your index and middle finger on the lid, hinge pointing towards your web.
Now for the fun part! Squeeze the lighter so that your index and middle fingers slide off the lid and down the side of the lighter. Your thumb will now be on the other side. And wonder of wonders, the lid will be open! You’ll need to exert about the same pressure you would when snapping your fingers. While some think that the lighter opens by pure magic, in reality it’s the snapping motion that causes a burst of inertia that flings the lid open. Your audience won’t care too much about inertia, so just tell them it’s magic!
Now it’s time to ignite. Snap your fingers with your other hand, and use the tip of your middle finger to light the flint wheel as you snap.
Either do a snap or a flick with your non-dominant hand, but this time on the backside of the lid. Or if you want to look suave and debonair, then do a quick lid swing with the wrist of your dominant hand.
