How to Obtain and Cast Magic in Final Fantasy VIII:
1. Press the circle button to bring up the menu.
2. Select the Junction command.
3. Select the character you want to be able to wield magic.
4. Select the Ability command.
5. Set Magic and Draw as two of the character's abilities.
6. Exit the menu. Walk until you enter a battle.
7. Select the Draw command while in battle to draw magic spells from the enemy.
8. Select the Cast option to cast the spell immediately, or select the Stock option to save the magic to use later.
9. Cast stocked magic by selecting the Magic command in or out of battle.
