Backside Tailslide On A Skateboard

Skateboard Tricks

How to Do a Backside Tailslide on a Skateboard:

1. Skateboard toward your obstacle (a ledge that is just an inch or two taller than a curb would be ideal), approaching it so you are almost parallel to it.

2. Pop your tail and turn 90 degrees, landing with your tail on the object. You will have to turn your shoulders to look where you want to go, so you won't be able to see directly what your body is doing, but you'll be able to see down onto the board.

3. Go into the slide with your toes on the tail and your front foot over the front bolts. How far and how well you slide will depend on your speed and angle.

4. Come out of the trick into a fakie (rolling backward, 180 degrees from the way you were facing at the start of the trick). If you can get up on top of the trick, your body will almost naturally turn out to fakie.
