How to Snowplow Stop on In-Line Skates :
The snowplow stop is a good, simple method for stopping when skating backwards. It's not too tricky, but it can only be done at relatively slow speeds.
1. Skate backward at a medium to slow speed.
2. Point your heels towards each other.
3. Splay your skates outward.
4. Lean forward.
5. Come to a complete stop.
6. Step forward and start skating forward.
