How to Set Up a Wall in Soccer:
Essentially, you're trying to block a shot by creating a human barrier. Think of it as building team spirit.
1. Listen to the goaltender. The goalie chooses how many people are in the wall and where it's placed.
2. Maintain a distance of 10 yards between the ball and the wall as the rules dictate. The referee will measure the distance if a question arises.
3. Align the person on the edge of the wall with the near post of the goal.
4. Stand shoulder to shoulder.
5. Keep your arms in front of you for protection.
6. Put your chin on your chest to avoid getting hit in the face.
7. Try not to flinch.
